We understand the challenges of motherhood. Multiply that by the additional stress caused by limited resources, poor living conditions, mental illnesses and physical or psychological trauma. It’s critical that we come together as women and support our fellow Mommies in need, while acknowledging the importance of prioritizing our own self care. Mommies & Mixers® was created to provide a space for women to come and let their hair down -if only for a few hours, to reconnect and remember life before becoming a mom. We love our children, but far to often mothers lose their selves after becoming moms. We forget about our passions and our dreams. We owe it to ourselves and our children, to stay true to the women we are, before and after the title.

Motivated by her own personal challenges, Dinai founded Mommies & Mixers® - a curated experience for women (particularly mothers) to mix, mingle, and make a difference. As a young mother, she knew she was not alone in feeling conflicted with giving up her dreams and career for her family. Thus the Young Workin’ Mommies blog was birthed.

The goal of her blog was to show that the birth of a child doesn’t equate to the death of dreams. She shares the wisdom gained through her journey of motherhood and how each area of her life has been impacted by her decision to pursue her dreams amidst starting a family.

Through the blog, she connected with a network of woman and mothers who shared her passion to support each other and overcome the many challenges of womanhood & motherhood. As her blog’s following grew, she knew she could be a voice of the “new motherhood”. A voice that represents this incredible dynamic of Mommies experiencing passion-filled and purpose-driven lives. She recognized her followers were in need of a way to connect with each others and be reminded that they were not alone in this journey. It was time for the next step: the launch of Mommies & Mixers®! Because she has always had a giving heart, which she attributes to her own mother, she set out to make the most of the brunch by encouraging guests to bring items. The first event collected gently used clothes. After speaking to a number of shelters in the Chicagoland area, it was evident that diapers and wipes were an ongoing need. So every Mommies & Mixers® brunch serves equally as a diaper and wipes drive.

Come as dressed up or dressed down as you would like. Channel that inner 2 year old. Does she want to wear a tutu with rain boots today... go for it!

Nursing infants only. (And we have a space designed for nursing and pumping if needed). This event is created so that you can have a “day-off”; to socialize and remember who you were before you got the title “Mommie”. If you need assistance with securing a sitter let us know! We work with some awesome sitter service companies.
