“The Journey”

In 2020, Dinai launched the 2020 Perfect Vision Campaign, a mobile tour aimed at providing FREE vision health resources to Black and Brown communities. She journaled her process of producing the campaign, shedding light to entrepreneurship and encouraging this notion of “dreaming big”. Dinai set out to show the world her authentic journey of bringing a vision to life. Enjoy the 4-part mini docuseries filled with laughs, tears and major wins! Each episodes ranges from 7-10min.

No dream is unattainable as long as you are willing to put in the work. Some times you win. Sometimes you lose; but it you are always learning, you’re never losing.”

Part 1: vision

Habakkuk 2:2 - Write the vision, make it plan so that anyone can read it quickly

Part I really gives the viewer a high level overview of what my vision is for the 2020 Perfect Vision Campaign and how I plan to make it a reality. I began recording most of the footage prior to COVID from my iPhone and the remainder from my home. You’ll see what I feel I’ve been called to do and what my purpose is and how God speaks to me. My goal is to stay true to my passion and purpose all while prioritizing my family obligations.

Part ii: werk

Proverbs 16:3- “Commit your work to the Lord, and your plans will be established”.

Put in the WERK! Having a great idea or a dream is one thing, putting in the time and energy and resources to make that thing come to life- is another thing! Throughout this journey I essentially was creating my own rode map. I hadn’t seen what I planned to do, done before. It required a lot of work, a lot of research, and a lot of vulnerability. Opening up myself and my ideas to potentially be shut down; to be told no, and still go after it anyway.

Part III: Challenges

Life is not without challenges.

James 1:2-4- “My brothers and sisters, be very happy when you are tested in different ways. 3 You know that such testing of your faith produces endurance. 4 Endure until your testing is over. Then you will be mature and complete, and you won’t need anything.”

Part III is still the hardest for me to get through. It is the most vulnerable. I pushed past the embarrassment and the shame to pour into this one. This is the part most people don’t want to highlight, the challenges. Actually hearing no, over and over again. Failing. Getting derailed. Having to start over. As an entrepreneur you are essentially saying “hey I have a great idea to do something better than what is already being done…let me prove it to you”. Some people listen, some don’t. Some agree, some don’t. Some care, some don’t. The challenge is to continuously believe in your idea, your dream, your vision, even when no one else does.

Part IV: fruition

Romans 8: 28 - “And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.”

My faith and belief in God, carried me through this process and continues to carry me through life. I have not shied away from the fact that this vision was placed on my heart by God, I believe that and I stick by that. While I will never force my beliefs on anyone, I find it incredibly important to share how my spiritual journal has led me to this very moment. How God moved in my life and spoke to me in ways that undoubtedly confirmed his existence and presence in my life. Through all the trials and tribulations, the no’s, the set backs and an entire pandemic, The 2020 Perfect Vision Campaign was a success! Larger than I could have ever imagined!
